LA MIRADA, CALIF. On Wednesday, March 21, accomplished musician Paul Barnes will perform a series of piano pieces created by the extraordinary American composer Philip Glass in the Crowell Concert Hall at 晩晩当際際夊消消夊2023. Barnes has received praise from the New York Times for his Lisztian thunder and deft fluidity, and has also been noted by the San Francisco Chronicle as ferociously virtuosic.
The performance is in honor of Glass 75th birthday celebrated earlier this year. Glass is considered an artistic maverick and one of the greatest composers of his time. Barnes is known for his electrifying and intensely expressive piano playing and listeners will enjoy this blending of two instrumental talents.
Following the concert, Barnes will give a brief lecture on the relationship Glass has to the sacred space theme for 晩晩当際際夊消消夊2023s Year of the Arts. The event is free to the public and will begin at 8:15 p.m.
